Press Release – 15 July 2009 I have written to you about the reason for China not inviting your candidate at Miss Global Beauty Queen in Harbin, for the reason as there are many problems there. We cannot help it if China wants to stop contest due to the many happenings that is going on in China. If she has a visa, I am sure there is a validity and keep her for a contest coming probably in September. We will try and makeup for these as its beyond our control when disaster, strikes or unrest happens. You will be updated as and when I have any news coming from China. Respectfully, Jerome Too Press Release – 12 July 2009 We wish to inform you that there was an urgent meeting with the Chinese officials yesterday afternoon. Due to the current unrest in Urumqi City , Xinjiang - Western China, the organizing committee have decided not to proceed with the Miss International Beauty 2009 Contest in this city and will be flying the girls back to Beijing in the coming days. The China organizer has decided to reorganize the contest and schedule to the 1st August 2009 in Daqing city in the north of China which is safe and far away from Urumqi about 5 hours away by air plane. First I would like to apologize for not been contact last whole week. As your' all know that on 5th July Urumqi have a series riot which is the same day we all arrived there. We are Lucky that when the riot happen, we are having a welcome party in the Sheraton hotel and did not having any out door activity. Immediately htat night, the government have cut of the phone & internet communication with out side world to prevent the riot getting worst. On the 2nd day morning, we have been transfer to another town call Jumusar which is 100km away from Urumqi and is safe there. We continue with our program until 8th of July, we have been officially inform by the Urumqi government that our event have to be stop and have to leave Urumqi as soon as possible. Due to the short notice, the china organizer have to urgently rearrange our flight schedule back to Beijing and rearrange the entire event. So, on 10th July we went back to Urumqi Sheraton Hotel from Jimusar, and stay 1 night there. on 11th July, we manage to get the flight sits for all our crew & contestant to leave Urumqi to Beijing. We travel in 2 separate flight back to Beijing. Also, due to shortage of time, we have to put the girls in 2 separate hotel in being to stay for 2 days, we allow girls to have a rest time in Beijing and let them have a shopping day here. Next 2 days, we will proceed to another city to continue our pageant schedule. Due to the sudden riot happen, the China organizer and our company have suffer a huge loss, we have try very hard to make sure the event will still go on and the girls will go back with good memory. We have decided continue to organized the Miss International Beauty which the final will be held on 1st August. Many of the finalist in Miss International Beauty are sad but they do understand the difficulty we face and agreed to stay back to take part in the final. I hope the directors & friends will understand the difficulty we face provide full support to make sure our event a great success. Now, we have many thing to like extending the air ticket & Visa. We will be flying all the girls back on Friday the 10th July 2009 and will re house them in Beijing. Once we arrive in Beijing on Friday, we will advise you by e-mail on the hotel name, contact number and room numbers of the girls, so you may contact them there. By then you may contact them by internet. Currently the Internet system in Xinjiang area is temporary down.
