http://www.missworld.com Romania national contests/208 LOREDANA VIOLETA SALANTA, 17, from Bistrita Nasaud was chosen as the Miss World representative for Romania. The event ran from September 9 to 17 and included photo shoot, fashion shows, cultural events, charitable activities and excursions in the Arges and Prahova Valley and even Sport track to climb 1480 steps to the castle of Vlad Tepes, the model for the Bram Stoker character Dracula, in Poienari, Arges County. The final took place on September 16th 2009 at the Castle CANTACUZINO Busteni and was presented / hosted by Iuliana Marciuc (TVR) and Octavian Ursulescu. Final positions: Winner - Loredana SALANTA Violeta, 17 years, Bistrita Nasaud 1st runner up - Alexandra Dumitrache, 19 years, Mioveni, Arges 2nd runner up - Otilia Tirpan, 18 years, Constanta Loredana at the national final Loredana at the national final The charity evening at Miss World Romania National Final was fundraising for Heroes Cross on Caraiman Peak, a National Monument and Romanian Landmark, in the memory of the railway heroes who died on duty in World War I fighting against the armies of the Central Powers. The cross was erected at the initiative of Marie of Edinburgh and King Ferdinand of Romania in order to be seen from as large a distance as possible. The 26 participants at Miss World Romania National Final displayed a Fashion Show of young Romanian designers creations, to contribute to fundraising for Heroes Cross on Caraiman Peak, built in1926. The money raised will be used for restoration elements of the iron cross and foundation, upgrading of platforms and access roads, electric installation, and restoration of the atmospheric electrical discharge system. * * * * * * * * * * Bistrita Nasaud 17ani 179cm 88-63-93
