PRESS RELEASE Plock, 28 Aug 2010 - A new sovereign of global beauty is born: Ms Karina Pinilla Corro from Panama won Miss Supranational 2010 in the modern amphitheater of Plock, 120 km North of Warsaw, the Polish capital. The 25 years old model and student of advertising and merchandizing at the Interamerican University stood up against 65 beauties from around the world who arrived in the Central European country to join the second edition of the Miss Supranational pageant. The international jury elected Hana Verna (Czech Republic) first runner-up, Sandra Marinovic (Slovenia) second runner-up, Claudia Villafuerte (Peru) third runner-up and Maythavee Burapasing (Thailand) fourth runner-up. Due to the best TV gala in 2009, Miss Supranational was recognized by industry experts as last year`s shooting star among international premium beauty contests. But this year`s magnificent event surpassed even the last telecast. An utmost challenging and sophisticated choreography made the difference to other international pageants but helped the contestants to recognize their skills, to perform under stress, to thrive and go beyond their potential. `A lifetime experience as Mrs Marcela Yandar Lobón, World Beauty Association`s President, assessed. Additionally, the final featured the international music talents of Katerine, MistChill and Michaela de la Cour (ex Army of Lovers) as well as reknowned interpreters of the host country like Patricia Kazadi, Miss Project and France based Michal Kwiatkowski. After gathering in Warsaw and a welcome visit at the Mayor of Wieliczka, including a colorful first presentation of their National dresses on the town`s square market, the contestants started into the sightseeing tour: an excursion to Wadowice, the birthplace of Pope John Paul II, a trip to Krakow, the ancient capital of Poland, the inspection of an ecological project in South Poland, a fashion show in Katowice and the visitation of an underground salt mine. With arrival in the resort of Ciechocinek the contestants started into the rehearsal phase. The preparations included a talent round and the election of the Best National Dress. Beside jewelry, the winner of this pageant committed to excellence and compliance enjoys a prize money in cash of 25,000 US Dollars. The time schedule for on 11 August 2010 in Poland and stay to 12 August in the capital city. On 13 August the sightseeing tour starts in Krakow. This year's touristic focus shifts from Masuria and the Baltic Sea to South Poland and the mountains. On 22 August the contestants arrive in Ciechocinek for the rehearsal phase. The gala will be celebrated on 28 August in Plock and the finalists leave the country on 30 August.
