By GB | MTQI 2105, News | 06 November 2015 Miss Tourism Queen International is definitely back and at full speed! (Literally) Recently the beauties woke up in the morning and after a typical Chinese breakfast at the Hotel (to which most of them have been getting used to by now) they headed to the port in Pingyang to board a speed boat en route to Nan Ji Island. The ride was a “little” rocky and even though the beauties were provided with sea-sick medications before the trip, it was also good that they where provided with plastic bags which came very handy after some of them felt very sick. Out of respect for their privacy we are not mentioning any specific names and those pictures are definitely not being posted! Nan Ji Island is a beautiful and remote island about 90 minutes from Pingyang. With beautiful beaches surrounded by rocky hills, this stunning island is the home of a Chinese Military base. The girls stayed at a very “basic” hotel (the best at the Island) where that even have to bring their own towels! For some was a little shocking after staying at a 5 star Hotel in Pingyang, however, this made the experience even more memorable and encouraged the misses to spend more time absorbing the beautiful surroundings as opposed to staying in their rooms “attached” to the wi-fi. The daily activities included touring through different parts of the island where they enjoyed the stunning views while the press had their day taking multiple photographs of the contestants in this paradisiac place. In the evening, the girls enjoyed a BBQ on the beach (with mostly seafood from the area) and they sat around a bon fire while singing, dancing and enjoying themselves after a very long day. As soon as the girls arrived at Nan Ying Tan San they were greeted by the press (who has been following them around wherever they go) and a large number of local residents, who were all very excited to receive this unusual visit in their rural hometown. They all wanted to get a closer look of the beauties and if they were lucky even have their picture taken with them. Their journey started by crossing a river in a very rustic bamboo draft. Once on the other side the contestants started to climb their way up to a Buddhist Temple located at the top of the mountain. On their way up, the girls made a few stops to enjoy the amazing scenery, to have their picture taken next to a beautiful waterfall, and in some cases just to take a small break and take some air before continuing their way up. It was a pretty tough climb but all of them finally made it to the top! (thumbs up to all the Misses for being such good sports!). After such a rough and tiring expedition, and considering that the girls have been eating exclusively traditional Chinese meals since their arrival, the organizers of MTQI decided to surprise the girls and they brought KFC lunch for them! Once lunch was over it was time to continue the journey, this time to a second mountain where they visited a Taoist Temple. Now it was time to get back down where the buses where waiting, and they were all thrilled to find out that instead of having to climb down the mountain, this time they would be taking a cable car! After a 90 minute ride back to the Hotel in Pingayng and a very long but exciting day, the contestants enjoyed a nice warm dinner and then headed to bed to get some rest. Tomorrow is another day and new adventures await! MTQI2015: visit to historical towns By GB | MTQI 2105, News | 04 November 2015 | Add Comment The 2015 MTQI contestants were taken to visit some historical towns located in the outskirts of Pingyang. They took a tour of an old military base which currently serves as a museum, and visited the house (nowadays a museum) of the very famous Mathematician Su Bu Qing, who grew up in this town. Unfortunately it rained throughout the whole day, but that only meant that the girls had a chance to show off their colorful umbrellas!
